The Story Behind the Artwork
I started this painting with more fear than colors. It had been a while since I touched canvas, I was used to paper , My palette was dry , but something inside me said "Enwongo, try" No pressure, No deadline. Just me, the blank board, and the doubt in my head. At first it looked like rubbish. My hands were shaking. The fear said " you've lost it" But I kept going. One brush stroke at a time. Then something shifted within a few strokes, the work began to speak. The colors I didn't have were replaced by faith I didn't know I had. What started as doubt ended as proof. Landscape of hope is the moment I killed fear and remembered that I can. It's not perfect but it's true and it's mine.
