The Story Behind the Artwork
I painted "The Carrier" thinking of my grandmother. Thinking of every woman who wakes up with weight on her head and still walks, with her head high. The basket is full - responsibilities, bills, children, dreams. The blue skin is royalty. Because carrying weight doesn't make you less. It makes you a queen. The drips at bottom are real. Sweat , Tears. Struggle. But look at her posture, she's not bent. She's not on her knees. She's standing.
