WATERFALL OF HOPE

The Story Behind the Artwork

This work began as an experiment - to paint a waterfall differently, not realistic, but with emotion and texture. I started with acrylic blocks, then left it for days. The painting was waiting. When I returned, the brush could not speak what my spirit was feeling. So I picked up the palette knife. I began to sculpt the paint like clay. The left side demanded roughness. I mixed sand with paint to birth the forest. One side is rough, wild, and untamed. The other side is smooth, flowing, peaceful. This is life. One side of us is the struggle, the sand, the fight. The other side is the flow, the grace, the waterfall of hope that carries us. I painted this from my head, no reference. Just imagination and faith. "WATERFALL OF HOPE" is a reminder: Even in rough seasons, God is still flowing.
