The Story Behind "Crest of the Wave" I chose to paint this seascape because I see the ocean as a reflection of life. Just like life, the ocean is never completely still. Sometimes it is calm and peaceful, and at other times, its waves rise with great strength. I wanted to capture that contrast because I believe we all experience moments of peace, uncertainty, struggle, and hope. The rising waves in this painting represent the challenges and difficult moments I have faced and the challenges that every person encounters along the journey of life. The waves may look powerful and unpredictable, but they continue to move forward. That reminds me that no matter how difficult a situation becomes, I must keep moving forward rather than allowing the challenges to stop me. I used different shades of blue and turquoise to express the changing moods of the ocean, while the white foam represents the energy, movement, and struggles that come with every wave. The warm sandy shore represents stability, peace, and the feeling of finally finding solid ground after passing through difficult moments. I deliberately created the waves with visible texture because I wanted their movement to feel almost tangible. I wanted the viewer to not only see the waves but also feel the energy within them. For me, this painting is more than a picture of the sea. It is a reminder that life will always have its waves, but every wave eventually reaches the shore. I painted it to remind myself and anyone who looks at it that challenges are temporary, hope remains, and there is always another opportunity to begin again.
