Leftover

The Story Behind the Artwork

Leftover explores the remnants of consumption, desire, and human existence. Through the image of a fish reduced to its head and bones, an empty wine bottle, a half-filled glass, and a distant figure beyond a doorway, the work examines what remains after fulfilment has passed. The objects become metaphors for lives depleted by desire, relationships exhausted by use, and people abandoned after their value has been extracted. The doorway introduces the possibility of departure, while the remaining objects bear silent witness to what has been consumed and what cannot be recovered. Ultimately, Leftover asks a difficult question: when everything has been taken, what remains of the thing—or the person—that once held value?
