Echoes in the Mirror. Size 36 by 36 Mixed media When you look into the mirror, what echoes back to you? I see strength, a survivor The lines of stories time can’t wash away. I see a quiet mind that dreams aloud, An ancient grace, unbroken and unbowed. For like the vibrant cloth that breaks the frame, The soul within is one no edge can tame. In this piece, I wanted to capture that exact moment of deep, silent monologue. She sits before her reflection, a closed journal before her, caught in a private monologue. To show how our true selves refuse to be boxed in, I let her beautiful blue tie-dye dress literally spill past the bottom edge of the canvas. Our history, our thoughts, and our passions cannot be contained by a neat frame.
