VISUAL DESCRIPTION THE SEER - One Family, One Prayer Acrylic on Canvas, 2ft by 3ft THE SEER is a contemporary African Enwongonism masterpiece portraying a family of four bound by destiny. The luminous gold line weaving around their necks is not decoration, but the sacred thread of unity that holds them as one. Each face is adorned with ancestral patterns, symbolizing lineage, culture, and identity. The mother, father, and daughter close their eyes in solemn prayer, embodying strength, not weakness. Their prayer empowers the youngest son, whose wide open eyes reveal him as the seer, the future and light of the family. A vibrant, museum-grade work about sacrifice, vision, and unbreakable bloodlines.
The Story Behind the Artwork
STORY BEHIND THE WORK (Artist Story This painting is a family of four, but they are one. The gold yellow line moving around their necks is our unity. It goes around each of us separately, then meets in the middle. That meeting is the covenant. We are bound together and cannot scatter. I painted them colorful, healthy, and radiant because that is our portion long life, abundance, no sickness. The father, mother, and daughter close their eyes. This does not mean they are weak or sick. It means they are praying. They shut their eyes so that the younger one can open his. The younger one is the seer. He is the future. He is the light of this family and the light to the universe. His family sacrifices their sight, so he can see further, deeper, and clearer than they ever could. This is the story of every true family one generations prays, the next generation sees. This is Enwongonism: Different faces, one soul. One family, one prayer, one future.
