Ezichi Sapphire Okoroafor, who has also created under the moniker, Phiré, began making portraits of family and friends at around the age of nine, developing a keen eye for detail, structure and likeness. Over time, this evolved into a sustained practice rooted in observation and composition across portraiture, architecture, and landscapes. She reimagines subjects through stylization and controlled realism, creating contemplative narratives centred largely on immersive solitude.
